Norilsk Nickel says loses 50% of equipment, spare parts suppliers

MOSCOW, Jun 30 (PRIME) -- Russian metals giant Norilsk Nickel has lost about 50% of its usual suppliers of equipment and spare parts, the company said in a presentation late on Wednesday.

“We understand that we lack spare parts, that logistics chains are being destroyed. We hoped for China’s help, but the negotiations were difficult, we could not come to have a look at their production for a couple of months,” Operational Director Sergei Stepanov said.

“Problems at the border with Europe also arose in both directions. We think that we will be able to fulfill our production plan for 2022. There will be shift in the programme, delays in the plan, but we aim at fulfilling the 2022 business plan 100% by joining efforts of all business units.”
